Lope Family Serve Day 2025

Join us for Lope Family Serve Day, a special opportunity to serve alongside your student and make a difference in our community! Together, we’ll give back through meaningful service projects, including tidying up the GCU Community Garden, organizing with GCU CityServe or volunteering with Habitat For Humanity. Whether you’re planting seeds of change or lending a hand to our surrounding community, your efforts will have a lasting impact. We can't wait to serve with you!

Each volunteer will receive a complimentary meal card to use for lunch on campus, and a FREE GCU shirt for serving with us.

Additionally, a limited number of tickets to the Homecoming Men's Basketball game will available for volunteers who participate. Tickets will be available during Lope Family Serve day.

Project Descriptions

  • GCU CityServe: Join us for hands-on activities like sorting Amazon shipments or organizing and refreshing sections of our bustling warehouse. This is a fantastic opportunity to get moving (expect a bit of walking) while contributing to a meaningful cause. Don’t forget to wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle to stay energized. Let’s tackle this together and make an impact!
  • GCU Garden: Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of projects at the campus garden. Including building and construction, landscaping, pulling weeds, and possibly painting. Please wear a long sleeve shirt, closed toed shoes, long pants, and sunscreen or bug spray if desired. Keep in mind to wear clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty, muddy, or have paint on.
  • Habitat For Humanity: Join us as we partner alongside an Arizona family to revitalize their home and neighborhood! Volunteers need no previous experience! Habitat provides
all necessary training and tools the day of your volunteer opportunity. Volunteer tasks vary depending on construction needs and include everything from framing to landscaping. Please wear a long sleeve shirt, closed toed shoes, long pants, and sunscreen or bug spray if desired. Keep in mind to wear clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty, muddy, or have paint on.
    • An additional form is required to serve with Habitat for Humanity, and a link to their website will be emailed to you after your registration is complete. Addresses of projects will be released closer to the event
